Upcoming workshop: Lighting for Cinema w/ Polly Morgan
I’m very excited to announce an upcoming workshop in April with Director of Photography Polly Morgan. As some of you may remember was the DP on our short film Mobius that we shot for the introduction of the Canon C300 . She’s fantastic at what she does and has just recently been inducted into Local 600 (The DP’s union.) We’ll be teaching at the Palm Springs Photo Festival in a 2-day course (April 5 and 6) where we discuss lighting for the silver screen.
Here is a link to the workshop (Click Here) and here is a course description and registration details:
In this two day workshop Director and Photographer Vincent Laforet and Director of Photography Polly Morgan will lead a workshop focused on lighting for cinema. Vincent will discuss the transition from lighting for still photography to the world of motion with Polly. Vincent and Polly recently collaborated on the short film “Mobius.” Students will be introduced to key concepts of lighting in the world of motion. Students will explore the different lighting tools available to cinematographers and shoot a variety of small scenes with different lighting approaches.
There is no need to bring any equipment to this class.

Wow, this sounds like a great workshop to attend as both you and Polly are incredibly talented and have a wealth of knowledge to share. Wish I wasn’t working so I could participate. I’m sure it will go well
Mr. Laforet. let me ask You couple question about Palm Springs Photo Festival.
1. Will you broadcast it online?
2. Can i buy course after ending. (I live in Europe and can not attend the festival)

Lighting workshops are extremely rare to my knowledge – that’s why I’m so excited to do this one… I know of a few at the Maine Media Workshops. Cheers- Vincent
Would there be any benefit to bringing gear since I am also enrolled in the DSLR boot camp? Simple stuff like 5D and rig.
