What a pity, I can not just quickly get over to New York. Are there any plans for “events like this” in Europe ?
Best Regards
Peter

Peter – Nothing yet for Europe… ask your local store 😉
Excellent! By the way, will you be making any appearances at the Apple booth (or elsewhere) at PhotoPlus Expo later that week?

Hi Vincent,
Just found out about your event at Apple! Unfortunately, its already started as its 9am.
Hope to meet you at the Expo later this week.
What times will you be there during the day?
Will you have time for a short interview or Q&A?
Best, Amos @ AF
Nice post, I like the comment of the Mediastorm president, and I love their videos.
I would like to be there. 🙁
Vincent, I don’t see a reserve link so I assume this is a first come, first allowed in event??? I called up the 5th ave. store and they were pretty clueless about the event. Any more info…much appreciated. Looking forward to the event.

First come – first allowed – that’s my understanding yes…. it’s not uncommon for the store not to know of special events…
I’d also like some more information about registering for the event… how does it work? I’d love to come – cause I’m luckily in NYC right now 🙂

Just show up – I’ll be there
Vincent,
What are your thoughts on the new MacBook Pro’s glossy screen? I’m mourning the loss of a matt screen option. Thanks!

I hated it at first – but now love it – colors are richer and blacks deeper – great for editing movies for tv screens
Vincent,
This sounds really great. Just wish I had the time to fly to NY. As you seem to have a good contact with Apple, can you suggest to them that an event like this in Europe would be really great?
Thanks & good luck
Wilhelm

Again – see above – make the request w/ a few others – and maybe they’ll listen… would love to come to Europe… have a lot of friends and family there
Hint: the actual spelling is Rêverie 🙂
Excellent! I can’t wait to see what comes of all this! Congrats!
Hi,
Any chance this can be filmed and a podcast be put up?
Be very interested to see it..but Australia is a bit far away!

Not sure – don’t think the Apple store would be up for that – but I’m going to do something else soon – that you will be able to see from Australia… more to come shortly on that… stay tuned
@Matt: if somebody give me a 5D Mark II I can film it for a full HD podcast 😉
Raaaa !
J’aurais aimé pouvoir être là bas pour voir ça !
Un podcast serait génial en effet.
Dommage… vraiment.

Hi:
“great for editing movies for tv screens” .. OK, but what about photography? working outdoors?
I guess you cannot talk bad about the new MBP … not just before an event on the 5th Ave Store, hahaha.
Vincent,
Do you think event will be filmed and that you will be able to diffuse it ?
Emmanuel
Hey Vincent,
Any news from Canon about 24fps / 25fps requests?
Really want this in a firmware update…. fingers x
A.
VIncent, I’d love to be there!
In any case, I’d like to throw a shout out for:

Let’s make this site a place where we can all learn from each other & how to best use this new tool!
Not good, I will be in New York on Tuesday. Will love to see the presentation.
Vincent, I regret having to miss this (I live 900 miles away), but if I had the chance to talk with you, it would be about several things, such as turning the photographic world on its ear with your Reverie work. Do you have any idea how many scoffers of DSLR video (me included) you blew away? I can’t WAIT to sink my teeth into that thing now. The 5D’s ability for such insane video quality (especially low light!) and trademark narrow DOF that can’t be done with a video cam is going to start a revolution along WITH the incredible still shots it’s designed for. You, my friend, awakened a huge number of photogs, so thank you!
Lastly, your “Cloud Is Falling” article was not only the best business education anyone of us could have gotten, but have you gone back and re-read it since you wrote it? Your feelings about video came to fruition with Reverie. Superb. You’ve sparked THIS boy’s creativity at the very least. Cincinnati’s in my backyard and I’m already planning so I’m ready when that 5D Mark II is out. Cheers!
This is my first of many posts…Vincent your work is the epitome of perfection. My question to you is do you have any plans to come to California? I wanted to attend your photography workflow class, but I’m unable to.
It would be great if you can make a sunny california trip.
Thanks and the very best to you.
You are a inspiration to Us all.
Wilfredo
Thanks for speaking at the 5th ave Apple store today…very inspirational! It was very modest of you to think that people came just for the 5D Mk II and your video. I for one came because of your photos. Amazing work. One quick question from today’s event…you mentioned using Aperture unplugged from your raid. I am in the middle of transitioning from Lightroom to Aperture and was wondering what preview setting you used for the JPEG preview files that Aperture generates. Thanks for the info.
Have talked to a Canon guy at a local presentation Day at Calumet. No memory cards allowed in pre release 5D MKII Cams.
They hope to have the 25p feature for the release. But no confirmation on that.
I was disappointed about the slow and bad AF in the new 5D. Not acceptable to use autofocus during recording. Maybe it was due to low light in shop but even then it should have been better. So it won’t be no replacement of my HDV cam.
Hi Vincent,
Thanks for the talk on Monday. It was insanely informational. I’m 5 weeks from finishing a music video shot with a DSLR that has no video capabilities. But the video will have the fluidity of a typical film.
Could you remind me the website you mentioned that is commissioning you to make your next film?
How about other locations in the US. I live in Houston and would love to have exposure to your skills down here.
Hi
I wish I was able to attend your Reverie making event. I live here in India. After seeing your video for Canon, I’ve decided to shift my gear from Nikon D90 to 5D MKII. However, I need to know a few more things about processing. Main concerns is about the grain in low-light and if you applied any grain reduction filters in FCP or any other software. Is there any online video of your session available? I was wondering if you could shed some more light about shooting technicalities and the post process. 🙂
thanks so much!

Been looking at doing site optimization and bettering the web design on my website for a long time, so this post has been very useful. Clear read also, so thank you!
