“Reverie” will find a new home sometime mid-next week
translation services
I’ve spoken with David Sparer at Canon and we will have the “Reverie” video back up mid next week. I initially wanted to put up a quiet update on a previous post – but I’ve been getting quite a few calls and e-mails asking me about our progress – so I decided to make this quick announcement – thanks for your patience.
Thank you Vincent for everything you do. 😉
We will have patience, don’t worry.
How about full rez this time? 😉
Perhaps you can get clearance from mobie and put it up as a torrent?
Torrent it without music. Not the same, but at the end of the day it is the visuals we are interested in.
Vincent, have you considered wiping the music off and doing a voiceover instead? I bet most people would enjoy hearing your comments and any interesting details you could provide for the different shots throughout the video. That would also make it legal to download in entirety or even…torrent…

Are you on crack buddy! The music is the 2nd best thing about the clip.
Totally creates the mood…
I agree with Jin. Put it up full res, and if Moby won’t give you permission, then yeah, just do a voice-over instead like Dustin said.
I’d like to see the whole thing full screen, not just clips. Might be a ballsy thing to ask, but as the late Randy Pausch said in his Last Lecture, it never hurts to ask. The worst thing they(you)can say is “No.” I just hope you won’t say that. But thanks again for putting up all these videos and pics. I really have enjoyed & appreciated it. Thanks also for posting the link to the past Eddy Adams Workshop lectures. 🙂

Sorry, I misspelled his name. Eddie Adams.
Hi
So when you say mid week I presume you mean U.S. mid week not New Zealand, you see we are a day ahead here, and I missed golden opportunity when it was available, Sigh, waiting patiently
Thanks
First of all, let me say, what wonderful video, Vincent!
I’d like to support Jin’s and Marshal’s ideas.
I would love to see this full res, or at least 720p.
Also, this should definitely be made available as a torrent imo, with Moby or without. That would take care of the bandwidth issues. (Personally I don’t get why Moby would oppose the torrent thing, all his stuff is available through torrents anyway, what would this change?? And it’s not like you can’t extract the audio track from an mp4 downloaded through a website either…)
Cheers!
Yes, yes. Commentary, skip the music. Love that idea!!!

If you need me to take it down just say so, no problem.
Also posted a video tutorial for working with 5dmkii source footage in final cut pro:

Didn’t mean to go against your wishes, the video is down.
Attention All!
In anticipation of the new 5D release and all the excitement of it’s movie capabilities, we are launching a new website soon for those of you who would like to showcase your movie making skills on the site using still digital cameras only.
We welcome suggestions from all…

Hey Vincent, just so you know, you are sparking a lot of creative ideas for us and everyone thanks for the video and keep up the good work.
Vincent! The waiting is driving us nuts! Where’s the new link??
😉
Now, serious question for anyone to answer: I’m stuck in Windows, no wonderful Mac in my life. What video editing program for Windows is comparable to Final Cut Pro (or the whole Studio)?
Thanks in advance.

Adobe Creative Suite is your best bet Paul. The lead programmer behind Final Cut Pro jumped ship from Adobe Premiere.
The combination of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Encore, and Soundbooth (?) is comparable to FCS Final Cut Pro, Motion, DVD Studio Pro, and Soundtrack Pro. Arguably, you can acheive comparable color grading results with After Effects as you can with Color.

Super, thanks! Why didn’t I think of Adobe?
I can offer to let my cutter do a nice music track for the video with apple loops so it would be free to distribute. I linked to a sample of his work on my site.
just drop an email. my cutter is in the office on tuesday again to cut my stuff.
Hmmm. Why does my comment does not show up?
I offered to let my cutter do a soundtrack with apple loops. well, he isn’t a musician for hollywood studios but my help the project.
Sample linked.
bye

Excellent camera test. Worst film of all time.
IMO you should lose the title, lose the copyrighted music, stop calling it a film and call it a test. Then it’s an impressive show of your resourcefulness and your eye.
As a film it only sucks. As a camera test, people will be impressed and ask you more about your work.
Best of Luck.
Henry

Henry, you can’t state “worst film of all time”, that’s a definitive statement, not a measurable entity. You probably should have proof-read your reply and you would have seen how nasty it sounds…unprofessional and totally unnecessary (14-year olds use the word “sucks”… funny you didn’t mention WHY). Sorry buddy, like it or not, Reverie sent millions into a new thought pattern of creativity. Not exaggerating, Canon shut down the site after 1.5 million downloads. Not bad for the worst film of all time.
Jealousy is an ugly thing.
well, hi admin adn people nice forum indeed. how’s life? hope it’s introduce branch 😉
