More Timefest… and a peek at the future Kessler time lapse system
translation services
For those that want to see more behind the scenes – and a PEAK AT THE NEXT GENERATION of time lapse tools from Kessler Crane – here you go! The new system will allow you to control focus, zoom, and iris! (along with the dolly/crane and pan/tilt head that are currently part of the existing system.) A special thanks to Eric Kessler and Tom Guilemette for the behind the scenes video! For a list of Time Lapse gear that I use go HERE.

This is amazing – I’m looking forward to seeing more TimeFest releases.
Until then, I’ll watch the mini video over and over.
I just finished watching the BTS. Absolutely fantastic work that looks absolutely exhausting! Are you recovered yet? I am also interested to know what the apps were that Tom’s crew used for predicting the position of the stars and the time of the moon strike. Thanks to all of you guys for sharing the experience and knowledge.
great look at how much work being creative really is…
I think I’d learn everything I need to know on the subject just spending a couple of days like those with such a crew! 😉
Thanks for everything!
Thanks for this BTS. This look like such an awesome experience! The iPhone app they used is Star Walk. It makes me want to try to do my own time-lapse of the sky but unfortunately the the weather is crap these days in Belgium..
Anyway, thank you guys again for sharing this!
Amazing BTS video!!!
I have 3 questions for you Vincent:
1) How did you set up the camera for this deep night conditions?
2) How did you light the scene?
3) What’s the name of this app that shows astronomic stuff?
Thanks,
Bruno.
Love to see those movies of your adventures! Big inspiration Monsieur Laforet!
The gear looks amazing and the results are mind-blowing!
One question for you… where is it you were staying? The place looks like the perfect place to park the family while I go shooting.

Mammoth Lakes – not sure of the name of the place – but indeed the PERFECT central location
For some reason before I watched this I thought ‘Tom Timescapes’ was a kind of hobo, one man band, living a solitary existence out in the wilderness!
Made me realise just how much work it takes to get these amazing shots.
Thanks,
Mike.
Don’t you risk damaing a hot brake Rotor by putting ice on it.
This is a cool video though. I was jsut talking to someone today about how useless Digi SLR’s have become for videography.

Yea – not sure it was the best idea…
It’s an exciting time for timelapse filmmakers!
But it sure makes the pocket empty for the indie guys 🙁
Time to save up…
Looks fantastic. Are the motors/gears quiet enough where you could do real time moves while recording dialogue?

Yes – unless you are in a super small room w/ whispered dialogue
a whole new game for time lapse
