Is “Q” Behind this? A James Bond gadget for HDDSLRs

Well… the only thing better than posting this promo would be for me to actually have it in my hands for the job I’m currently prepping for… I’m leaving for a 2-week job in Italy on Thursday!
If you think no one else out there is more excited about this than you are – you’re wrong… I am!
Details on availability: still slated for summer of 2010 – basic wireless remote for iPhone in the $1,500 range and it goes up or down (wired is cheaper) from there, depending on the configuration.
For more details go to Redrock Micro’s site.
Insane, o and FIRST !
As a novice photographer I have no idea what that is or how I would use it but….
If it was sitting in front of me right this second I am pretty sure I would figure out how I could use it!
Badass is all i can say!
The FF looks great but my only concern is the battery capacity of the iPhone. Impossible to use the iPhone during an intensive shoot.

@Ervani, The iPhone battery is not used. The microRemote has its own rechargeable batteries that also powers/charges the iPhone at the same time. You can also connect to an external power source as well. So you are not limited to iPhone batteries at all.
The interface looks interesting. I wonder how intuitive it is and how customizable it’ll be for such a small package. Impressive from what I’ve seen so far.
Only one question: where are you planning to come here in Italy? If I’ll be close to you I would be very happy to meet you only to say “HI”!!
It would be nice if you’ll organize a social meeting in italy somewhere!!!!!!
Hello Vincent, which city are you going to visit in Italy? If you are going to experience any issue with your production please feel free to contact me; I can call from here and try to help you out. Buon Viaggio!
there’s a Nikon lens mounted on that Canon!!!
I want one – and I don’t even have a video capable DLSR!
I’m impressed with how much endless money can be spent on all of this. I need a project with a $50,000 budget just to break even on the equipment investment. I have an idea for a new reality show: How much money can you spend on making a DSLR into a professional grade video camera. The person that can spend the most wins :-).
It’s on my list of equipment purchases for 2011. A very useful tool at an awesome price! I’m thinking a dedicated iPod touch for the unit too.
@Ron R – it depends what you’re using it for. If you’re really using it for work and not just a toy then it’s cheap. Very cheap.
dear redrock micro,
when will be the price list available? I need to know how much money should I spare till this becomes available.
Also is the 1500$ set comes with the motor too?
thanks
Holy Crap! I’ve listened Alex Lindsey talk about this stuff for a while but I never realized the depth of the systems. My palms are itching.
I thought I noticed a tiny bit of latency between the focus wheel and the lens but, perhaps this is just an optical illusion created by the angle (and speed) of the shot (in this video.) I’m really excited to get my hands on one of these to try out. Patience is a virtue… (I wish I possessed.) Thanks, Vincent.
Where are you going in Italy?
Excellent product, great idea.
just to add to the wish list: … what about monitoring in the iPhone itself? lets say via Teradek’s Cube , that would make it twice as good.
If it was sitting in front of me right this second I am pretty sure I would figure out how I could use it!
