translation services
We’ve had a few similar requests from people over the past few days regarding this weekend’s upcoming Canon 5DMKII workshop and have agreed to allow more students into the workshop this weekend. This will allow us to offer them at a significantly lower price. For more information see below.
Vincent Laforet Presents:
A Photographer’s Transition from Still to Moving Pictures
Saturday October 10, 2009 from 9am to 5pm at Plaster City Post in Hollywood
During this all-day workshop, Vincent Laforet, pulitzer prize winning photographer, Canon Explorer of Light, creator of the landmark short film Reverie, and the first U.S. photographer to create a commercial with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, will spend the day leading a hands-on education workshop designed exclusively for still photographers looking to move into the world of digital filmmaking. He will take you through some of the most common technical and creative challenges still photographers are likely to face as they make the transition from the still to the moving picture, and discuss advantages and disadvantages of other digital film solutions on the market. This workshop will focus primarily on using the latest in dSLR technology, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 7D.
Laforet will also lead a hands-on demonstration of many of the latest accessories designed for the emerging dSLR digital film market, such as Redrock Micro’s support rigs, Marshall Electronics’ and Ikan’s LCD monitors, Litepanels’ revolutionary LED lighting solutions, and GlideCam’s camera stabilization products. He will also present a post-production workflow designed specifically for the 5D Mk II utilizing Apple’s Final Cut Pro and Color, and Joseph Linaschke, formerly Apple’s lead presenter for Final Cut Studio, Aperture and more, and now a Los Angeles based freelance photographer, will demonstrate that workflow from ingest to output in a live-demo presentation.
The workshop will be held at Plaster City Post in Hollywood, in both the digital theater and the soundstage. It will begin at 9am and end at 5pm, with a break for lunch from 12 to 1. Lunch is not included, however you are welcome to join Vincent and Joseph at a nearby restaurant where a table will be held to accommodate the group.

How do I sign up for this weekend’s workshop?
I would also like to participate. Please guide me how.
Is it possible to get on an email list to be notified of similar upcoming workshops?
Thank you.
Terry
Hello,
I have seen your ‘Reverie’ with much fascination – it was like a landslide for me, and confirmed my long-term intuition that the future will be a mix of short hd vid combined with high-quality photography. I’ve seen other footage, taken with the same camera, less convincing. People are not aware they need a very good tripod to prevent camera shake – it’s different when you are shouldering a cam, or you press a light small box against your face (your heart beat … will be registered). Now, I want to by either of them, 5D II or the new 7D – should I got for less but more modern? I would say the full frame sensor is more important than the new autofocus system of the 7D. Will you have a review of the 7D here in the near future, and perhaps a comparison between the two ‘champions’? Thanks. Pierre
Hey, the footer of your site doesn’t seem to be working properly in firefox, I have tried clearing the cache… but no luck, I was also using a theme like urs on Jailbreak iPhone 4 but it stopped working.
