Directing Motion Tour kicks off to great reviews
And we’re off! 3 cities down… 29 to go. Oh my!
The good news is that despite limited sleep so far, the reviews have been super positive. And we’ve worked the kinks out of the logistics of travelling with all of this gear and an entire set with us throughout the country. (And we’re getting more sleep as a result.)
Here are some comments from yesterday’s Boston Directing Motion Tour stop – hope to see many of you on the road! The larger cities are close to selling out, if you find that the venue in your are sells out, there are still seats in the slightly less populated venus FYI. We’ve had people fly in from London, Australia and Canada already… which is quite flattering to say the least!
If you can’t make it in person for whatever reason , we’re going to shoot the workshop and make it available for download on May 31st – more info here. There’s no sustitute for taking part of course – so I suggest you try to make it if you can. We’re all having a blast (and yes that’s Peter Hurley operating on the JL Fisher dolly above.)
"Do. Not. Pass. Go. Attend this workshop! What I learned in 12 hours will last me a lifetime – you can’t put a price on that. THANK YOU." – Alexia Prichard"A truly great experience covering an awful lot of ground. A terrific combination of personal experience and advice, referenced cinematic material and live, hands-on experience." – Junius Beebe"Incredibly informative and highly recommended." – Nick McKinless (flew in from LONDON) Filmmaker / Stuntman (Sherlock Holmes – the movie) / Action Director"Hit the nail on the head – loved the film examples and hands on. Dissecting the film scenes live dramatically taught me about camera movement and the motivation for moving the camera. Hands on demonstrations showed what needed to happen behind the scenes to get the coverage required to get it on screen. I also gained a new appreciation for how much time and concentration is required to film motion." – Carl Vernlund"An incredible value – inspiring, educational & invaluable." – Dan Rosario"I had a great experience at DMT, refreshing some old techniques that I knew, and learning many new and important techniques. I appreciate the hands-on experiences and the one-on-one opportunity to discuss with Vincent and experiment with the equipment." – Helder Mira"This was well worth the money! I’ve added more breaks! must have been reading my mind… and working on making the entire day a little shorter as well.
Excited about catching this towards the end of the tour….
This looks intense! I would love to learn better camera movement
