Driven Creativity Contest
I wanted to bring to your attention a contest that G-Technology is sponsoring this year called Driven Creativity. It is the first time they have done this type of a contest and are looking for more entries in a variety of categories including Short Film, Photography, Animation, GoPro Active, and Music. I encourage you to check it out, and btw I will be judging the Film categories with Alex Buono and Jeremy Cowart. The Grand Prize of the competition is $5000 toward your next creative project and an 8TB G|RAID storage drive. Category winners will receive a 4TB G|DRIVE, People’s Choice winners will receive a G|Connect Drive and Runners Up will receive a 1TB G|Drive Mobile.
Here is a quick description from the G_Technology site:
The G-Technology Driven Creativity Competition 2012 is only open to residents of the USA who are 18 years of age and older. Entry is free and you can enter only ONE submission in photography, film or music. Only work created in 2011 or 2012 is eligible. Entries close September 24, 2012, with the category winners announced on the G-technology.com website. A shortlist of entries will be taken from the top rated creative with the final winners and runners-up entries in each category decided by a panel of creative industry experts. There will also be a People’s Choice Award going to the entry which receives the highest average vote."
And those of you who are in the EU don’t worry – there is a European contest for you as well.
Good luck!

Thats not an EU competition, with only United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands and Russia as possible countries to participate…

Hello all,
I know this isn’t the rigfht place for a question like this, but I was hoping Mr. Laforet may see it. I have a job interview in the Houston area for a local production company on Friday. The position is for an assistant editor and I was curious as to what the average salary for this kind of of job is. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Vince, I’m a high school film teacher in Joplin, MO. Are there any student level contests of which you know that they might be able to showcase their talents?
