Los Angeles Workshop at Plaster City Digital Post

I have been asked by several people and friends to put together a workshop in Los Angeles similar to the Atlanta Workshops that I will be doing in a little over a week.
.
Therefore I have teamed up with a great post-house, Plaster City Digital Post,  in Los Angeles and with Joseph Linaschke, formerly Apple’s lead presenter for Final Cut Studio, Aperture and more, and now a Los Angeles based freelance photographer, to put together a series of sessions on the weekend of October 10-11.
.
.
There will be one or two sessions of 17 people each max – one on October 10th and the second on October 11th.
.

“A professional photographer’s transition from still to moving pictures”
“During this all-day seminar, Vincent Laforet, pulitzer prize winning photographer, Canon Explorer of Light, creator of the landmark short film Reverie, and the first U.S. photographer to create a commercial with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, will spend the day leading a hands-on education seminar designed exclusively for still photographers looking to move into the world of digital filmmaking.  During an actual shoot where attendees will be encouraged to get hands on experience,  Vincent will take you through some of the most common technical and creative challenges still photographers are likely to face as they make the transition from the still to the moving picture, and discuss advantages and disadvantages of other digital film solutions on the market. This seminar will focus primarily on using the latest in dSLR technology, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 7D.
.
Laforet will also lead a hands-on demonstration of many of the latest accessories designed for the emerging dSLR digital film market, such as Redrock Micro’s support rigs, Marshall Electronics’ and Ikan’s LCD monitors, Litepanels’ revolutionary LED lighting solutions, and GlideCam’s camera stabilization products. He will also present a post-production workflow designed specifically for the 5D Mk II utilizing Apple’s Final Cut Pro and Color, and Joseph
.
Linaschke, will demonstrate that workflow from ingest to output in a live-demo presentation. The seminar will be held at Plaster City Post in Hollywood, in both the digital theater and the soundstage. It will begin and 9am and end at 5pm, with a break for lunch from 12 to 1. Lunch is not included, however you are welcome to join Vincent and Joseph at a nearby restaurant where a table will be held to accommodate the group.   The fee for the one day event is $525.  There will be two identical sessions – one on October 10th, and the second on October 11th.
