Collision Conference a Week Away
I will be one of the Keynote speakers a the “Collision Conference” in Los Angeles next Saturday. I hear that there are still a few spots available. This should be a very interesting conference that brings together both still photographers and videographers to discuss what I like to call the new “HD-SLRs” such at the Canon 5D MKII.
I for one look forward to meeting many of the people that I know will be attending – and to hearing Rodney Charters (ASC, CSC) and Shane Hurlbut (ASC) speak – the two have been on the forefront of digital cinema in terms of applying new technologies to major productions and motion pictures.
There is more information on the conference agenda below:
Location: LA Film School 6363 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028
The Collision Conference is divided up into two tracks over two days. Track one is focused on hybrid photography using cameras like the Canon 5D Mark II and the RED ONE. Track two is a look at using the RED ONE and VDSLRs for indie film/TV productions, music videos and feature films.

What’s The Big Deal?Still photography is rapidly colliding with HD video as photographers and filmmakers use DSLRs, like Canon’s 5D Mark II, and cinema cameras like the RED ONE™ for advertising and editorial assignments. With the rapid emergence of content hungry media outlets including mobile devices, digital signage applications, and broadband oriented web sites, today’s clients are expecting more than just still photos for a modern campaign or feature story.
